Analysis: Woodland administrators rank 728th in state for average pay

Administrators in Woodland Community Unit School District 5 earn an average of $84,172 per year, ranking 728th out of 864 districts in Illinois, according to a McLean County Times analysis of the latest Illinois schools report card.

The 2020 average is 22.7 percent lower than in 2016 and 15.7 percent lower than in 2011. District administrators make 24.4 percent less than the state average of $111,293.

Administrator salaries depend on the district's size, location and resources, as well as the individual's level of experience and education, according to the Illinois State Board of Education report.

The Woodland School District in Livingston County enrolled 484 students in 2019-2020. There is an average of 121 students for every administrator, compared to a statewide ratio of 171 to 1.
