Mike Kirkton's campaign has issued the following press release:

Bloomington, IL - Farmer trustees representing Farm Bureaus in the 105th Illinois House of Representatives district are endorsing Mike Kirkton for election.

County Farm Bureau leaders met recently as trustees for the Illinois Farm Bureau ACTIVATOR program - the organization's political action committee - and unanimously endorsed Kirkton for his commitment to be the voice of the 105th District.

As a Livingston County Board member, Kirkton is an advocate for his community. On his family farm in Gridley, the family raises and trains American Saddlebred horses. The military veteran also overcame adversity and gained leadership skills during his time in the service.

In the Statehouse, Kirkton wants to continue to focus on efforts to reinstate fiscal responsibility and encourage businesses to come to Illinois and stay. He said he knew immediately when the 105th District House of Representatives seat became available, due to Representative Dan Brady running for Secretary of State, that he wanted to run in the primary election. Kirkton plans to be a voice for agriculture and the people of the 105th district.

ACTIVATOR Trustee Committee Chairperson Jason Bunting said, "Our trustees are proud to announce Mike Kirkton receiving the Illinois Farm Bureau ACTIVATOR endorsement. He will be a strong advocate for agriculture and constituents in the 105th District. He will work tirelessly on behalf of all of us to bring a voice of reason to the state capitol. Voting for Mike Kirkton is a wise choice."

The endorsement by Illinois Farm Bureau ACTIVATOR places Kirkton in a group of select individuals in the state. They understand the leading role agriculture plays in the state's economy and the far-reaching benefits of its products. It proves he recognizes that agriculture's benefits go beyond the vital function of feeding Illinois, the nation, and the world.
