MFT/Rebuild Illinois Bond Funds for Fiscal Year 2022-2023

Mayor Wilder explained that the council has to approve what they will spend the MFT money on each year per the state. He also explained what they can use the money for. Joe Russow, with Farnsworth Group, explained the proposed plan that Commissioner Price and himself put together. The major project for this year is to repair Veto and Commercial Streets. They will use A3 to do this. Joe suggested the City use the Rebuild Illinois Bond Funds instead of their MFT Funds this year. He explained that the bond funds have to be used by 2025 and he would rather the City use it instead of getting to the deadline and having money that they have to pay back. The MFT money does not have to be used by a certain date and the City can just save that for next year or bigger projects. The council agreed to use the Rebuild Illinois Bond Funds up to $116,000 this year.

There being no further business, the meeting was adjourned.
