The Illinois State women's tennis team will be traveling back to Normal to participate in their second home tournament of the fall season, the Redbird Duals. The matches will start on Saturday, November 5, and will conclude on Sunday, November 6. This weekend's matches will take place inside the Evergreen Racquet Club in Bloomington, Ill.
The squad will face off against players from Eastern Illinois, SEMO, and University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee. Saturday will begin with doubles action at 9 a.m. followed by singles around 10 a.m. Sunday will have doubles beginning at 9 a.m. as singles gets underway at 11 a.m. Doubles will be 6-game sets and singles will be played as 10-point breakers for the third set.
"It will be great to play our last tournament of the season at our home facility. We will look to give everyone an opportunity to compete and hopefully finish the fall season on a good note," ISU head coach Maja Kovacek said.
The 'Birds are coming off a strong showing at the ITA Midwest Regional, where the 'Birds picked up a pair of doubles victories as well as saw freshman Nevena Kolarevic compete in the singles main draw, advancing all the way to the Round of 32.
