BloNo Pizza Co. to Host Basketball Coaches Shows Tonight
The Illinois State Basketball Coaches Shows, featuring Illinois State head men's basketball coach Ryan Pedon and women's basketball head coach Kristen Gillespie will air tonight live from BloNo Pizza Co. in Normal.
Fans unable to attend the show can listen on WJBC 1230 AM, the Varsity Network, and on GoRedbirds.com., as Pedon and Gillespie recap the past week of Missouri Valley Conference play and preview their upcoming matchups.
The Kristen Gillespie Show hosted by Greg Halbleib, starts tonight at 6 p.m. Gillespie will be joined by sophomore guard Lauren Cohen. Cohen comes off a career-night last Friday, in which she scored six points off 2-of-3 from three-point range in a career-high 11 minutes off the bench, helping the Redbirds to a 32-point victory over the Beacons.
Illinois State women's basketball (15-5, 9-1 MVC) swept Valparaiso and UIC over the weekend as the Redbirds maintain hold of first place in the MVC standings, heading into a weekend where the program hosts I-74 rival, Bradley, on Thursday before their annual Play4Kay game on Sunday when Murray State comes to town.
The Ryan Pedon Show follows at 7 p.m., hosted by John Fitzgerald and Mike Matthews. Pedon will be joined this week by graduate student forward Alex Kotov. Kotov is coming off a game in Illinois State's win over MVC-leader Southern Illinois in which he pulled down a career-high six rebounds while dishing out a career-high four assists.
The men's basketball team (9-14, 4-8 MVC) continue the 2023 MVC season with a home game Wednesday evening against the UIC Flames at 7 p.m. inside CEFCU Arena, before making a trek to Nashville to take on the Belmont Bruins on Saturday afternoon.
Fans are invited to watch Monday's show live at BloNo Pizza Co., located at 1304 Cross Creek Drive in Normal, Illinois. However, for those unable to attend the show in person, it will be broadcast live on WJBC 1230 AM, the Varsity Network, and on GoRedbirds.com.
