Q3 2021 Recap: 5 parolees from McLean County convicted of crimes against persons set for release

There were five offenders convicted of crimes against persons living in McLean County released on parole during the third quarter of 2021, according to Illinois Department of Corrections data obtained by the McLean County Times.

The data shows four men and one woman were among the parolees. The median age of the parolees sentenced for crimes against persons was 33. The youngest parolee was a 30-year-old woman sentenced in 2016, and the oldest was a 49-year-old man sentenced in 2020.

The offender who had been incarcerated the longest was Sharieff Brown. He was convicted in 2020 when he was 29 years old. He is now 31.

Under state law, paroled offenders are still in legal custody of the IDOC, meaning they can be taken back to a correctional center at any time if the state has probable cause or a warrant.
