Q1 2022 Recap: 2 parolees from Livingston County convicted of crimes involving alcohol set for release

There were two offenders convicted of crimes involving alcohol living in Livingston County released on parole during the first quarter of 2022, according to Illinois Department of Corrections data obtained by the McLean County Times.

The data shows both of the released offenders among the parolees were men. The median age of the parolees sentenced for crimes involving alcohol was 49. The younger parolee was a 47-year-old man sentenced in 2020, and the oldest was a 51-year-old man sentenced in 2020.

The offender who had been incarcerated the longest was Toby Birge. He was convicted in 2020 when he was 44 years old. He is now 47.

Under state law, paroled offenders are still in legal custody of the IDOC, meaning they can be taken back to a correctional center at any time if the state has probable cause or a warrant.
