Woodland Community Unit School District 5 Board of Education met March 15.

Here are the minutes provided by the board:

The Board of Education of the Woodland CUSD#5 held a Regular Meeting on March 15, 2023, at 5:02 pm. The meeting was called to order by Jeremy Adams. Answering roll call were:

Jeremy Adams, Brad Boldt, Rebecca Sterling, Chad Gilkerson, Dan Reinmann, Eric Perhach

Absent: Eric Sass

Also, present were Dr. Ryan McGuckin, Superintendent, Dan Borio Technology Director, Jacob Burcenski Principal, Kristin Mangrich Principal, Jordan Farris, Assistant Principal

It was moved by Eric Perhach and seconded by Dan Reinmann to have Jeremy Adams as President Pro-Temp for the evening. Roll call: all yeas 6 yeas and 0 nays. The motion carried.

Board of Education thanked several staff, subs, and game workers for going above and beyond their jobs for the betterment of Woodland

It was moved by Eric Perhach and seconded by Chad Gilkerson that the Board of Education approve the Consent Agenda. Roll call: all yeas 6 yeas and 0 nays. The motion carried.

12.2 It was moved by Eric Perhach and seconded by Brad Boldt to approve Woodland Elementary School as a member of the IESA

Roll call: all yeas 6 yeas and 0 nays. The motion carried.

12.3 It was moved by Eric Perhach and seconded by Dan Reinmann to approve summer school plan for 2023 summer

Roll call: all yeas 6 yeas and 0 nays. The motion carried.

12.4 It was moved by Eric Perhach and seconded by Jeremy Adams to approve Summer School Student Help plan for 2023 summer

Roll call: all yeas 6 yeas and 0 nays. The motion carried.

12.5 It was moved by Brad Boldt and seconded by Dan Reinmann to approve COOPs with Streator High School as presented

Roll call: all yeas 6 yeas and 0 nays. The motion carried.

12.6 It was moved by Eric Perhach and seconded by Brad Boldt to approve 2023, 2024, and 2025 season grass mowing and spraying bid from Gavin’s Lawn Care and Landscaping as presented.

It was moved by Eric Perhach and seconded by Brad Boldt to enter executive session at 5:27 PM to consider the following: Roll call: all yeas 6 yeas and 0 nays. The motion carried.

The appointment, employment, compensation, discipline, performance, or dismissal of specific employees of the public body or legal counsel for the public body, including hearing testimony on a complaint lodged against an employee of the public body or against legal counsel for the public body to determine its validity. 5 ILCS 120/2(c)(1).

Collective negotiating matters between the public body and its employees or their representatives, or deliberations concerning salary schedules for one or more classes of employees. 5 ILCS 120/2(c)(9)

Discussion of minutes of meetings lawfully closed under the Open Meetings Act, whether for purposes of approval by the body of the minutes or semi-annual review of the minutes as mandated by Section 2.06. 5 ILCS 120/2(c)(21).

14.3 It was moved by Brad Boldt and seconded by Eric Perhach to approve the maternity Leave for Lauren Hogan as presented

14.4 It was moved by Eric Perhach and seconded by Dan Reinmann to approve Jenny Hoekstra as custodian effective July 1, 2023
