Ray Estrada, a contender for the 17th Congressional District, has drawn attention to a recent poll underscoring concerns among working families about their diminishing access to the American Dream. Estrada has pledged to advocate for increased American energy production and curbing expenditures on initiatives favored by the Biden administration and the far left.
“Working families are seeing their version of the American Dream slipping away. As your congressman, I will vote to ramp up American energy production and stop spending more of your hard-earned dollars on Biden’s and the far left’s pet projects,” Estrada said on Facebook.
Estrada referred to a recent CNN poll revealing that 51% of Americans believe that the U.S. economy is still deteriorating, with only 28% stating that a recovery has begun, The Hill reported. The poll, conducted by SSRS, indicates a slight improvement compared to the previous year, with 75% of respondents rating the economy poorly, down from 76% in May.
Columnist Steve Cortes recently panned the mainstream media’s bias in portraying a positive image of the “Bidenomics” economy despite evident challenges. Cortes said despite the Democrat’s reliance on “Bidenomics” that the economy’s realities are different from media narratives, showcasing problems like inflation, decreased small business optimism and declining consumer sentiment, Cortes said on his Patria with Steve Cortes Substack.
The 17th Congressional District covers complete counties like Carroll, Rock Island, Whiteside and Knox, as well as portions of Henry, Warren and McDonough Counties and significant parts of Mercer, Stephenson, Tazewell, McLean, Fulton and Peoria Counties.
