National Ag Day is a time when producers, agricultural associations, corporations, universities, government agencies, and countless others across America gather to recognize and celebrate the abundance provided by American Agriculture. As the world population soars, there is even greater demand for the food, fiber, and renewable resources produced in the United States.

Illinois is the #1 soybean producing state in the country, with 15% of ALL U.S. Soybeans being produced right there. Additionally, Illinois is the #2 corn producing state in the nation, with 13% of the country's supply of corn grown on Illinois farms. Crop land makes up 76% of Illinois.

In the spirit of National Ag Day, the message is clear: "Celebrate today by enjoying locally grown agricultural products!!" and remember to "#thankafarmer."
