Most Illinois Secretary of State driver services facilities are now open earlier each morning, starting at 7:30 a.m.

The change comes in response to increased demand for DMV services earlier in the morning. Driver services facilities will be open from 7:30 a.m. until 5 p.m. on Monday through Friday and will also have extended hours on Saturdays, opening at 7:30 a.m. and closing at 12 noon. The offices will also close a half-hour earlier than previously.

The office of the Secretary of State has implemented several changes to its operating procedures to try and be more customer-friendly. A study indicated that there was higher demand for services in the morning rather than the early evening, so the office hours have been adjusted to better meet that demand.
