The Illinois Wesleyan University women's volleyball team concluded their season in the semifinals of the College Conference of Illinois and Wisconsin Tournament. On Thursday night, November 9, the Titans were defeated in a four-set match by top-seeded North Park University with scores of 25-19, 25-18, 20-25, and 25-22. The loss brought IWU's overall record to 17 wins and 13 losses, while North Park improved to a record of 24 wins and six losses.
Sophomore Taylor French led the Titans with her 20th double-double of the season, achieving team-highs with 15 kills and 26 digs. Senior Faith Washko contributed with 18 digs, and freshman Sophia Feeney added another ten digs.
Senior Jordan Pierce provided 26 assists during the match. Senior Taylor Babec and junior Morgan Harrington recorded five and four blocks respectively, while freshman Eleanor Palmer added three rejections.
Illinois Wesleyan struggled offensively throughout the match, finishing with an attacking percentage of .063 and totaling 38 kills. In contrast, North Park University achieved a higher efficiency with an attacking percentage of .208 along with their tally of 57 kills despite eight blocks from IWU.
This semifinal match marked the last game for seniors Lily Summers, Maddie Dryfhout, Taylor Babec, Annika Altekruse, Jordan Pierce, and Faith Washko. This senior class was instrumental in leading Illinois Wesleyan to a CCIW regular-season title and tournament championship in 2021 as well as an NCAA Tournament appearance.
