Illinois Wesleyan hosts women's golf event featuring top-ranked teams

The Illinois Wesleyan University women's golf team is set to host the Kathy Niepagen Spring Fling this weekend on April 13-14. The event will take place at Ironwood Golf Course in Normal, Illinois.

The Titans, ranked eleventh according to the latest Clippd rankings, are among 18 teams participating in the competition. Other notable teams include No. 10 St. Kate's, No. 19 Carleton, and No. 25 Grinnell, along with Augustana, Aurora, Carthage, Central, Franklin, Illinois College, Millikin, North Central, Ohio Northern, Rose-Hulman, St. Mary's, UW-Stout, UW-Whitewater and Wartburg.

Illinois Wesleyan University (IWU) will enter two teams and two individuals in the tournament. The first team comprises Emma Thorman from Macomb High School; Lexi Onsrud from University High; Macy Ludwig from St. Anthony; Jacque O'Neill from Harbor Springs; and Jadyn Spinks from University High in Bloomington.

The second IWU team includes Kylie Hundman from Central Catholic; Emily Gastrau from Wauwatosa East; Rachel Ducaji from Sacred Heart-Griffin; Claire Ancevicius from Lockport Township; and Kira Petersen from Chaparral in Parker.

Sarah Sim of Fremd High School and Brooke Erhard of St. Thomas More will compete as individual players for IWU.

Each day of the tournament will commence with a shotgun start at 9 a.m., with live scoring available online.
