The Illinois Wesleyan University men's tennis team concluded their participation in the CCIW Fall Invite held at North Central College over the weekend. The two-day event saw notable performances from several team members.
Sophomore Ian Turnbull and freshman Thad Dillow secured seventh-place finishes in Singles Flight 1 and 2, respectively, each ending with a record of one win and two losses. In Singles Flight 6, Griffin Hammond and Zeke Cross were scheduled to compete against each other for fifth place but chose not to play. Hammond lost his initial match against Hayden Friese from Carthage College but won against Eliot Saint-Paul from Augustana College. Cross also lost his first match to Daniel Urraca of North Central but later defeated Layton Carls of Carroll University.
In Doubles Flight 3, Dillow paired with Hammond to finish in fifth place after defeating teams from North Central and Millikin University. Seniors Jordan Sibley-Diggs and Joshua Cortez ended fourth in Doubles Flight 4.
Looking ahead, the Titans will conclude the fall segment of their season at the Intercollegiate Tennis Association Regionals from September 29 to October 1 in Kalamazoo, Michigan.
