The Illinois Wesleyan University men's wrestling team faced Millikin University in their inaugural home dual at the Shirk Center on November 15, 2024. The event also served as a senior day, honoring seniors Omar AlQammaz, Bobby Conroy, and Leonardo Reyes before the competition began.
During the match, Bobby Conroy initially led against Millikin's Benicio Martinez with a score of 4-2 after trailing 3-2. Despite leveling the score at 4-4, Conroy briefly regained an advantage with a move that put him ahead 7-4. However, Millikin ultimately secured victory by combining for five points to win the match.
In exhibition rounds, freshman Ameer Alamawi achieved the first-ever win at the Shirk Center by defeating Trevor Schoonover with a 7-4 decision.
Illinois Wesleyan University will continue its wrestling season on November 23 when both men's and women's teams travel to Eau Claire, Wisconsin for competitions hosted by the University of Wisconsin-Eau Claire.
