The Illinois Wesleyan University men's wrestling team is preparing for a College Conference of Illinois and Wisconsin dual against North Central College. The match is scheduled for Tuesday, December 3, at 6 p.m. inside Merner Fieldhouse in Naperville, Illinois.
Illinois Wesleyan last competed on November 23 at the 8-Man Battles in Eau Claire, Wisconsin. Freshman Jackson Castaneda won the 165-pound flights bracket, and sophomore Austin Johnston finished as runner-up in the 141-pound Gold Division.
The Titans had their first-ever dual competition on November 15 when they hosted Millikin University at the Shirk Center. Millikin won the meet and currently leads the CCIW standings with a 3-0 record. North Central holds second place with a 2-0 record. Illinois Wesleyan ranks ninth after one dual, just ahead of Wheaton, which is winless in three CCIW duals.
North Central achieved victories over Carthage College and Augustana College with scores of 44-3 and 42-6, respectively. The Cardinals are ranked sixth nationally according to The Open Mat's latest rankings released on November 27.
