Illinois State University's baseball team is set to play a four-game series against Western Illinois from March 13-16. The games on Thursday and Friday will be held in Macomb, while Saturday and Sunday matches will take place at Duffy Bass Field in Normal.
The Illinois State Redbirds, currently holding a record of 3-10, will face the Western Illinois Leathernecks, who are 4-8 this season. The two teams have a long-standing rivalry dating back to 1925, with Illinois State leading the series 92-77-1.
Western Illinois recently lost to the University of Illinois with a score of 11-4. Last year, they finished their season with a record of 13-37. In their last encounter in 2024, Western Illinois defeated Illinois State 11-1.
Illinois State recently achieved a notable victory over nationally ranked Oklahoma State on March 7. Judah Morris was instrumental in this win by going 3-for-4 at bat and securing four RBIs. Thomas Harper also contributed by earning his first career save.

The Missouri Valley Conference Championships are scheduled to be hosted by Illinois State at Duffy Bass Field from May 20 to May 24. This marks the first time since 2019 that the university will host the event.
