The Illinois State baseball team secured a 14-4 victory over Evansville on Sunday, capturing the series sweep in a game broadcast on ESPNU. The game, held at Duffy Bass Field, wrapped up in eight innings under the run-rule, witnessed by an audience of 625.

Holding a slight 5-4 lead entering the bottom of the eighth inning, the Redbirds made a significant push, scoring nine runs to finalize the win. Sophomore Matthew Donnison contributed significantly with 1.2 innings pitched, allowing no runs from one hit, and securing his third win of the season. Senior Joe Husak added an eighth-inning save, marking his fourth of the year.

Sophomore Luke Stulga continued his strong performance, extending his hitting streak to ten games. Key performances were also noted from Judah Morris, Luke Stulga, and Josh Outlaw, each contributing effectively to the team's offense.

The pitching lineup originally featured Tyrelle Chadwick, who completed 5.1 innings. The scoring began with Evansville in the second inning, setting the score at 1-0. The Redbirds responded with a decisive three-run third inning, pulling ahead. The Aces evened the score by the sixth inning, but Judah Morris propelled Illinois State back into the lead in the seventh.

Illinois State showcased strength, sending 14 batters to the plate in the eighth, which included a significant play with Shai Robinson drawing a walk-off walk. Joe Husak's performance tied him for third place in all-time program saves.
