The Missouri Valley Conference announced its Athlete of the Week selections on Tuesday afternoon, recognizing sophomore Immaculate Daniel as this week's MVC Female Track Athlete of the Week. This acknowledgment follows Daniel's outstanding performance at the recent Normal Invite, where she broke the Illinois State school record for the 100m dash.

Daniel's time of 11.33 seconds not only set a new school record but also stands as the fastest in the Missouri Valley Conference and the fourth fastest in the Midwest region. Her achievement ranks her 33rd nationally at the NCAA Division I level.

Earlier this year, Daniel also broke the school record for the indoor 60m dash at the Coughlan-Malloy Cup, earning her the same MVC Female Track Athlete of the Week honor. This latest recognition marks the seventh instance this season that a Redbird has been named athlete of the week.

Looking ahead, the Redbirds will compete at the Bryan Clay Invitational hosted by Azusa Pacific, starting on April 16, and the Michael Johnson Invitational at Baylor, set to begin on April 18.
