The Illinois State women's golf team secured a decisive victory at the 2025 MVC Championship, achieving a record team score of 874. This victory marked their second consecutive championship win and their 16th in program history, establishing them as the most successful team in the MVC Championship by a significant margin. The Redbirds finished 31 strokes ahead of their closest competitors, the fifth-largest margin of victory in championship history.
In addition to the team success, Illinois State players and coaches were recognized with several individual awards. Jinyoung Yun was named the MVC Golfer of the Year for the second consecutive year. Morgan Jones earned the MVC Newcomer of the Year title, while Elise Fennell was recognized as the MVC Freshman of the Year. Head coach Bre Hall was awarded MVC Coach of the Year on her birthday. Additionally, Yun, Jones, Fennell, and Jessica Jolly were named to the All-Missouri Valley Conference Team, with Yun, Jones, and Fennell also included in the MVC All-Tournament Team.
In individual performances, three Redbirds ranked in the top five, with Lory Paradis finishing sixth. Morgan Jones led the team with a score of 219, closely followed by Fennell and Yun, both scoring 220, and Paradis at 221.
The Illinois State team will discover their next competition location for the NCAA Regional on April 23.
