Elise Fennell is leading the Illinois State Redbirds contingent at the Illinois Women's Invitational after a strong performance on the opening day at Medinah Country Club in Medinah, Illinois.
Fennell began her tournament with an even-par 72 over the first 18 holes and followed it up with a two-under 70 in the second round. She is currently tied for 20th place with one round remaining in this two-day, 54-hole event.
Reagan Kennedy also posted an even-par 72 in her first round. She shot a two-over 74 in the second round, placing her at a combined score of 146, which ties her for 51st position.
Senior Dani Grace Schrock finished her first day with rounds of 80 and 74. She is ten strokes over par through 36 holes and is tied for 81st individually.
UCF leads the team standings after two rounds with a score of 552. Illinois, Auburn, and Indiana follow closely behind. Other teams participating include SMU, LSU, Texas Tech, Charleston, Minnesota, Michigan, Wisconsin, Alabama, Augusta, and San Jose State.
