Illinois Wesleyan women's soccer to host North Park University for homecoming match

The Illinois Wesleyan University women's soccer team will play at home against North Park University on Saturday, October 11. The match, scheduled for 1 p.m. at Neis Field, is part of a doubleheader that will also feature the men's team.

Illinois Wesleyan (5-5-2 overall, 0-1-1 in the College Conference of Illinois and Wisconsin) recently played to a scoreless draw against Wheaton College on Wednesday, October 8. Sophomore goalkeeper Vanessa Gray made five saves during the match. The Titans created several chances late in the game with three shots on target in the final five minutes.

Three Illinois Wesleyan players are currently among the top ten in the conference for assists. Sophomore Liza Wiley is second with five assists this season. Sophomore Ellen Dahlquist has four assists, and senior Kayley Carew has three. In addition, sophomore Keira Robinson ranks fourth in goals scored in the league with five.

North Park University (6-6-0 overall, 3-0-0 CCIW) remains undefeated in conference play after a 2-0 win over Elmhurst on Wednesday, October 8. Caroline Sjøstedt of North Park leads the conference with six assists. The team is averaging three goals per game in league matches.

Historically, Illinois Wesleyan has had success against North Park, winning 28 out of 32 meetings between the teams. Last season, North Park defeated Illinois Wesleyan 2-0 in Chicago for their fourth win ever over the Titans.
