The Illinois Wesleyan University men's golf team is in fourth place after the first two rounds of the Tartan Invitational at Laurel Valley Golf Club in Ligonier, Pennsylvania. The team posted scores of 299 and 298 on Monday, October 13, finishing eight strokes behind the tournament leader as they head into the final round.
Senior Myles Lahart led Illinois Wesleyan with a five-over-par 77 in the opening round and an even-par 72 in the second round, placing him within the top 15 individually. Sophomore Joey Sluzas and senior Juney Bai are each one stroke behind Lahart, tied for 21st place at six-over-par after 36 holes.
Rochester leads the tournament at 13-over-par (589), followed closely by Emory and Huntingdon. Illinois Wesleyan holds fourth place with a total score of 597, while Hampden-Sydney is fifth with a score of 600. Matthew Gover from Huntingdon and Sean Acree from Hampden-Sydney share the individual lead at even-par, 144.
