Chenoa ranked 412th in state in lottery ticket sales for May 2016

The City of Chenoa had the 412th highest lottery ticket net sales statewide per capita for the month of May 2016 -- up 65 spots from its April ranking.

The per capita lottery ticket sales in Chenoa was $19.90 per person.

Based on monthly sales records obtained by the McLean County Times, Chenoa generated $35,075 in net sales from its three lottery retailers in May 2016, compared to $41,210.50 in May 2015.

The City of Chenoa is in McLean County, and has a population of 1,763, according to 2010 census data.

Average sales for municipalities in the region in May 2016 was $15,562.82.

Chenoa's top lottery retailer is Caseys Gen Store #1630 located at 316 W Cemetery Ave, Chenoa, IL 61726.

Caseys Gen Store #1630 generated 39 percent of Chenoa's May 2016 lottery ticket sales and 1 percent of McLean County's sales that month, which was $1,711,910.50.

A close look at sales by city shows that the top five cities with the highest lottery revenue per capita in McLean County in 2015 were Towanda, El Paso, Chenoa, Danvers and Le Roy.

Statewide, the top five cities with the highest lottery revenue per capita were Forest View, Burnt Prairie, McCook, Mapleton and Merrionette Park.

The top five cities in the state generated $5,496,719 in net sales -- 1 percent of the state's 2015 net sales amounting to $2,793,271,709.50.
