Atlanta, Illinois, library trustee William Thomas failed to file a true and accurate "Statement of Economic Interests (SEI)" form in 2016 and did not disclose potential conflicts of interest, the Edgar County Watchdogs (ECW) allege on their Illinois Leaks website.
Thomas failed to report his ownership of the Teleologic Learning Center, which contracts with the library for bookkeeping services. His company receives $200 per month for its services, or $2,400 per year, the ECW reported.
In his SEI, Thomas marked "Not Applicable" to the form's first statement, which asks about ownership of a business working with local government, the ECW said. The requirements to report include an ownership interest "in excess of $5,000 fair market value," dividends in excess of $1,200 and the location of any affected real estate.
