Analysis: Bloomington pays $4.04 for every $1 pensioners contribute to Bloomington Police Pension Fund

Taxpayers contributed 80.2 percent of the $5,849,199 the Bloomington Police Pension Fund brought in last year, or $4.04 for every $1 from pension members, according to a McLean County Times analysis of the latest data reported to the Illinois Department of Insurance Pension Division.

In all, Bloomington contributed $4,690,359 to the fund, which saw a $1,091,547 increase in revenue over 2015. Members contributed $1,158,840, or 19.8 percent, in 2016.
