Analysis: Normal pays $2.88 for every $1 pensioners contribute to Normal Police Pension Fund

Taxpayers contributed 74.3 percent of the $2,342,341 the Normal Police Pension Fund brought in last year, or $2.88 for every $1 from pension members, according to a McLean County Times analysis of the latest data reported to the Illinois Department of Insurance Pension Division.

In all, Normal contributed $1,739,249 to the fund, which saw a $100,550 increase in revenue over 2015. Members contributed $603,082, or 25.7 percent, in 2016. Another $10 came from other unspecified sources.
