Report: Cornell spent $11,669 per student in 2016-17

Spending per pupil at Cornell Community Consolidated School District 426 is down 16 percent from five years ago, according to a McLean County Times analysis of district finances.

The Illinois State Board of Education 2016-17 report card shows the Livingston County school district spent $13,878 per pupil in 2012-13. It spent $11,669 in 2016-17.

The district saw its enrollment fall over the same period, from 113 to 108.

Cornell's spending in 2016-17 was 10 percent lower than the state average of $12,973.
