Olympia C U School District 16 issued the following announcement on Sept. 5.
The Olympia School District, along with the Olympia Football team, would like to pay tribute to the people that make a difference in their lives. The Football Game on Friday September 14, 2018 has been designated as “Hero’s Night”. This is a chance for the Olympia School District and the Varsity Football team to express their extreme gratitude to those who serve and protect us each day. We are asking all 1st responders (fire, police, ambulance, etc) and military (active or veteran) to join us on this special night.
All 1st responders and military will receive free admission into the game that evening. We would like to honor you before the game. Please assembly at the north end of the track prior to the start of the game. At 6:45 pm, we will have you proceed down the track to stand in front of the home bleachers. We ask that after you are recognized you would stay on the track for the playing of the National Anthem. You may then proceed to find you seats to enjoy the game.
If you are a 1st responder and would like to park your emergency vehicle at the field that night, we have the Unit Office Parking lot, which is just north of the field, reserved for you. I would anticipate our younger school children would be interested in seeing those vehicles. If you plan on attending, please contact Kim Logsdon in the high school office at kim.logsdon@olympia.org or 309-379-5911 ext. 9022.
Oh behalf of the Olympia School District, we would like to say thank you for all that you do and we hope you can join us on Sept. 14th.
