City of Pontiac issued the following announcement on Sept. 30.
Please join us for the 2018 Route 66 Kite festival in Pontiac, IL which will be held at the Sports Rec Plex on the south side of Pontiac. This event attracts kite fliers from all over, and on display will be "Giant" kites as well as the teams of Fire & Ice, 180 Go!, and Fire & Ice Team will be performing choreographed routines set to music. This is a MUST SEE! The boy scouts will be providing food for the event. There will be candy falling from the skies for the little ones. The Livingston County Humane Society will be on site again this year with adoptable pets and they'll be upfront of the park by the dog part of the park. The Unique Twist (Premier Balloon Artists) will be creating balloon art! We hope to have a face painter on site also.
There will be craft/vendors at this event also. Please check out the list of them below. This is a family and kid friendly free event. Please mark your calendar's and plan to attend this fun filled event!
