City of Bloomington issued the following announcement on Feb. 14.
We are suspending Bloomington’s Business Registration program, effective today. This will come before Council for formal consideration on February 25. While our program was not unlike that of many communities, we realize with Council’s recent approval of a Technology Commission, we have the opportunity to create a better program. Any business that has already registered will receive a full refund. We anticipate whenever a registration program is reinstated in Bloomington, there will not be a registration fee. Current Administration believes the true value of the program is the data. This mirrors the Town of Normal’s current practice and supports economic development in the Twin Cities.
