Q1 2019 Recap: Parolees in Bloomington convicted of sex crimes

There were three offenders convicted of sex crimes released on parole in Bloomington during the first quarter, according to Illinois Department of Corrections data obtained by the McLean County Times.

The data shows that three men were among the parolees. The median age of the parolees sentenced for sex crimes was 35. The youngest parolee was a 28-year-old man sentenced in 2011, and the oldest was a 41-year-old man sentenced in 2010.

The offender who was incarcerated the longest was Thomas Potter. He was convicted of a sex crime in 2015 when he was 34 years old. He is now 38.

Under state law, paroled offenders are still in legal custody of the IDOC, meaning they can be taken back to a correctional center at any time if the state has probable cause or a warrant.

The table below shows the cities in Illinois with the most paroled offenders in Q1 2019 who were convicted of sex crimes.
