Q1 2019 Recap: Parolees in Mclean County convicted of sex crimes

There were four offenders convicted of sex crimes released on parole in Mclean County during the first quarter of 2019, according to Illinois Department of Corrections data obtained by the McLean County Times.

The data shows that all of the released offenders among the parolees were men. Of the parolees sentenced for sex crimes, one was a veteran, and the median age was 34. The youngest parolee was a 28-year-old man sentenced in 2011, and the oldest was a 41-year-old man sentenced in 2010.

The offender who had been incarcerated the longest was Thomas Potter. He was convicted in 2015 when he was 34 years old. He is now 38.

Under state law, paroled offenders are still in legal custody of the IDOC, meaning they can be taken back to a correctional center at any time if the state has probable cause or a warrant.

The following table shows how many offenders convicted of sex crimes were paroled during the first quarter of 2019 in each Illinois county.
