City of Fairbury City Council met June 5.

1. Call to order – Mayor Slagel called the meeting to order.
2. Mayor Slagel directed the Clerk to call roll and the following members of Council answered present: Gary Norris, Steve Endres, Jon Kinate, Bruce Weber, Gerald Hoffman, Lynn Dameron and Bill Schmidgall. Charles Hoselton was absent
3. Pledge of Allegiance to the Flag
4. Motion to approve the Consent Agenda – Motion by Kinate, second by Dameron to approve the following items on the Consent Agenda:
A. Minutes from the May 15 and May 28 , council meetings
B. Voucher Invoice Register listing the bills
C. Treasurer’s Cash Report (second meeting of the month)

• The Water Department has started the annual flushing of hydrants on the south side of town

→ City Superintendent Ashburn reported
• Matt Curl has scheduled October 11 & 12, 2019 as make-up dates for rained out races
• He will be on vacation beginning June 14th and returning June 24th

C. Consideration of a donation request from Faithful Friends – NO MOTION

E. Motion by Weber, second by Kinate to approve the sale of the Fairbury K9 unit to include the police K9 vehicle and K9 dog officer to the Livingston County Sheriff’s Department in the amount of $27,500, to be deposited into the K9 Fund held by Prairie Lands Foundation for the City’s future K9 program. F. Motion by Kinate, second by Weber to reject the bid from Merrick Industries in the amount of $14,865 for the purchase of two (2) new mixing tanks for the water treatment plant and to accept a verbal quote of $7,500 from Technical Metals Inc. G. Consideration of proposal from G.A. Rich to install mixing tanks and furnish/install related piping in the amount of $6,900 - TABLED
