City of Fairbury City Council met Sept. 18.
Here is the minutes provided by the council:
1. Call to order – Mayor Slagel called the meeting to order.
2. Mayor Slagel directed the Clerk to call roll and the following members of Council answered present: Gary Norris, Steve Endres, Charles Hoselton, Jon Kinate, Bruce Weber, Gerald Hoffman, Lynn Dameron and Bill Schmidgall.
3. Pledge of Allegiance to the Flag
4. Motion to approve the Consent Agenda – Motion by Kinate, second by Hoselton to approve the following items on the Consent Agenda:
A. Minutes from the September 4, , council meeting
B. Voucher Invoice Register listing the bills
C. Treasurer’s Cash Report (second meeting of the month)
D. Check Register (second meeting of the month)

5. Mayor Slagel opened Public Comment and the following persons provided comments:
→ Deb Moran, ESDA Director for the City of Fairbury, announced she will be hosting a disaster drill exercise on December 9, 2019 @ 6 p.m. at the Fire Station

→ Street Superintendent/Fire Chief Steidinger was absent
→ Sewer Superintendent Duncan – no report
→ Water Superintendent Ifft was absent
→ Chief of Police McCormick – no report
→ City Superintendent Ashburn reported
• City crews have been hard at work the last couple of weeks with water main breaks and the extension east of town in anticipation of the Knapp building project
→ City Attorney Mann was absent

→ Alderman Endres asked if the video at Marsh Park has been reviewed yet

10. New Business – Discussion/Action Items

B. Consideration of electric aggregation pricing – FAILED, LACK OF A MOTION
C. Motion by Weber, second by Hoffman to purchase a Corporate Membership to the Prairie Central Sportsman’s Club for Fairbury Police Officers in the amount of $525. Motion carried 8-0. YES-Norris Endres Hoselton Kinate Weber Hoffman Dameron Schmidgall
D. Motion by Weber, second by Hoselton to approve a donation request to the Livingston County Crime Stoppers program in the amount of $500 to be paid from drug seizure funds. Motion carried 8-0. YES-Norris Endres Hoselton Kinate Weber Hoffman Dameron Schmidgall

11. Other Items for Discussion & Information
➢ The Mayor received a notification from the Boy Scouts of America that Fairbury has another Eagle Scout. Joseph Reed Trembley, Troop #1870, will be awarded at the Eagle Scout Court of Honor on December 15, 2019
➢ FYI – Cannabis Regulation Act of Illinois information is available. The City of Fairbury Zoning Board of Appeals will be holding their public hearing on Monday, September 30th @ 6 p.m.

❖ Diane Pawlowski asked what the new deadline is for turning in applications for Alcohol on City Streets
13. Motion by Dameron, second by Schmidgall to enter Executive Session at 7:08 p.m. Motion carried 8-0. YES-Norris Endres Hoselton Kinate Weber Hoffman Dameron Schmidgall
