City of Pontiac City Council met Feb. 10.

Acting Mayor Alvey called to order the meeting at 6:00 P.M.
The City Clerk was directed to call roll, and the following members of the Council were present: Alvey, Eckhoff, Kallas, Causer, Bradshaw, Myers, Gabor and Wille.
Agenda
2020-2021 Budget Preparation
Jacob Kinkade, WasteWater superintendent gave the committee status on the new plant, sewer repairs that are needed, upgrades that are not part of the loan project and possible new sewer installations in the area of LaMex and Family Kitchen. Also in the area of the Fiesta and Freedom and at the RecPlex.
Jim Melvin, Cemetery department, told Council what was done by his department, such as keeping the flower beds around the square and others, cleaned and planted. He would like the two gravel roads in the cemetery to be removed for additional burials and the department needs a new backhoe and pickup truck.
Chris Brock, Street Superintendent, noted the items that the Street Department took care of this past year. Items that are in need are the Riverside Park restrooms, a possible pavilion at Hamilton Pool Site and work on the bike paths and Fell Park Band Shell.
Referendum Planning
Continued discussion on the need for communication with residents explaining the need for the Sale Tax referendum passing. Mailers, pamphlets, Pontiac newspaper, social media and of course person to person.
A Finance Committee meeting is scheduled for February 19th at 3:00 P.M. at City Hall Chambers
