LEXINGTON ILLINOIS CHAMBER OF COMMERCE: Importance Of The "Stay at Home Order"

Stayhomefamily

Lexington Illinois Chamber Of Commerce issued the following announcement on March 29.

I had two conference calls this afternoon. The first with Governor Pritzker and then with Rep. Dan Brady. I want to thank them both for keeping all of us informed.

The Governor wants the Mayors to stress to our citizens the importance of the "Stay at Home Order". This is the only way we can combat this virus, I know, we have not received word of anyone in Lexington having the virus. But lets not drop our guard. Please continue to follow the guidelines of this order. Also, there is still a need for supplies such as Masks, Hand Sanitizer, Eye Protection, Disinfectant Wipes. We have a local drop box at City Hall, its on the side of the building next to the Police Department door.

Feel free to call me at 309-824-5009 and I can also arrange to pick them up. Lets see what we can do to support this effort.

I discussed with Dan Brady my concern with the amount of paperwork and red tape some of our small businesses face in asking for assistance, frankly, its ridiculous for the business owner and for the City to apply in order to offer any help.

He is now aware of the concern and will be working on ways to lesson the burden for us all.

I hope to have a conference call set up next week with all interested businesses in our community to discuss this further. I also want to remind our Seniors, that if you need anything call me at 309-824-5009 and we will do what we can to help.

Please everyone, stay safe and healthy.
