Illinois State House District 105 issued the following announcement on Aug. 14.
A dozen businesses in our local communities will share $240,000 in grants to help with Coronavirus-related hardships or damage due to recent civil unrest, State Representative Dan Brady announced today. The funding is being awarded through the first round of Business Interruption Grants, administered by the Department of Commerce and Economic Opportunity (DCEO).
“Our small businesses are continuing to fight hard to adapt and survive during the continuing pandemic. Damage caused by peaceful demonstrations turned violent is another disaster they have to overcome,” said Representative Brady (R-Normal). “These grants are an investment in their future, and the future of our local communities,”
According to DCEO, the first round of Business Interruption Grant funding is focused on restaurants/bars, barbershops/salons, gyms/fitness centers, and small businesses located in severe economically distressed communities. Funds may be used to help businesses with working capital expenses, including: payroll costs; rent; utilities; and other expenses resulting COVID-19 related closures. Businesses in Representative Brady’s legislative district receiving $20,000 each in grant funding are:

Rep. Brady said funding will be awarded to other types of impacted businesses statewide in future rounds.
