Village of Gridley Board of Trustees Met Dec. 7.

Here is the minutes provided by the board:

The regular meeting of the Board of Trustees of the Village of Gridley was held at the Village Hall at 7:00 p.m. Mick Finck opened with a word of prayer.

President Pro-tem Maurer called the meeting to order and directed the Clerk to call roll, and upon roll call, the following Trustees answered present: Michael Finck, Susan Laiming, Keri Hany, J. D. Maurer, and Mick Finck. Quorum present. No employees were present.

J.D. asked if there were any corrections or additions to November meeting minutes. There were none. Mick made a motion to approve the minutes and Keri seconded the motion. Roll call: Michael Finck-yea, Laiming-yea, Hany-yea, Maurer-yea, Mick Finck-yea. Motion carried.

Board reviewed the “Bills received by Clerk”. There were no additions. Michael made a motion to approve the bills and Mick seconded the motion. Roll call: Michael Finck-yea, Laiming-yea, Hany-yea, Maurer-yea, Mick Finck-yea. All present voted in the affirmative. Motion carried.

Board reviewed the Treasurer’s Report. After discussion, Susan made a motion to approve the Treasurer’s Reportand Keri seconded. All present answered in favor.

Michael introduced Mike McGrew with Van Gundy Insurance. The insurance committee was presented with

the 2021 worker’s compensation and liability insurance policy renewal at a cost of $35,532.00. After discussion, Michael made a motion to approve the insurance renewal. Keri seconded. Roll call: Michael Finck-yea, Laiming- yea, Hany-yea, Maurer-yea, Mick Finck-yea. All present voted in the affirmative. Motion carried.

Keri reported to the board that McLean County Emergency Management has notified us that our current software that runs the sirens is more than 10 years old and quite outdated. The agency is working with a couple of other communities who also need upgraded software. Our cost to upgrade the software for both the Gridley and Meadows sirens would be approximately $993.75 each. After discussion, Keri made a motion to spend up to $2,000 for the siren software update. Mick seconded. Roll call: Michael Finck-yea, Laiming-yea, Hany-yea, Maurer-yea, Mick Finck-yea. All present voted in the affirmative. Motion carried.

Susan reported that the bid letting was held on November 30 for the pool mechanical building. The low bid was Spear Corporation from Roachdale, Indiana with a bid of $200,000. After discussion, Susan made a motion to accept the bid of Spear Corporation. Michael seconded. Roll call: Michael Finck-yea, Laiming-yea, Hany-yea, Maurer-yea, Mick Finck-yea. All present voted in the affirmative. Motion carried.

Mick made a motion to adjourn. Mike seconded. Roll call: Michael Finck-yea, Laiming-yea, Hany-yea, Maurer- yea, Mick Finck-yea. All present voted in the affirmative. Motion carried.
