Sen. Jason Barickman (R-Bloomington) spent the days leading up to Valentine's Day joining his fellow Republicans in the Illinois senate to spread Valentine's Day cheer.
Students, church groups, scouting organizations and other organizations created thousands of Valentine's Day cards and messages with well-wishes to bring cheer to senior citizens living in assisted-living facilities and nursing homes across the state.
"It was a tremendous outpouring of support for senior citizens who have been largely isolated for close to a year now during the COVID-19 pandemic," Barickman said in the release about the senators' delivering Valentine's Day cards.
Barickman was first elected to the Illinois Senate in 2012. He is on many committees, including the judiciary, criminal law, education, executive and labor.
He is a veteran and graduate of Illinois State University and the University of Illinois College of Law. He is also the co-chair of the Legislative Audit Commission.
