The fourth quarter of 2018: Pontiac experienced a 5.5% drop in median home prices

The median sale price of a home sold in the fourth quarter of 2018 in Pontiac fell by $4,400 while total sales decreased by 15.4%, according to BlockShopper.com.

From October through December of 2018, there were 33 homes sold, with a median sale price of $75,600 - a 5.5% decrease over the $80,000 median sale price for the same period of the previous year. There were 39 homes sold in Pontiac in the fourth quarter of 2017.

The median sales tax in Pontiac for 2018 was $2,203. In 2017, the median sales tax was $2,186. This marks an increase of 0.8%. The effective property tax rate, using the median property tax and median home sale price as the basis, is 2.9%.
