The third quarter of 2017: Pontiac experienced a 12.2% increase in median home prices

The median sale price of a home sold in the third quarter of 2017 in Pontiac rose by $9,000 while total sales decreased by 13.5%, according to BlockShopper.com.

From July through September of 2017, there were 32 homes sold, with a median sale price of $82,500 - a 12.2% increase over the $73,500 median sale price for the same period of the previous year. There were 37 homes sold in Pontiac in the third quarter of 2016.

The median sales tax in Pontiac for 2017 was $2,186. In 2016, the median sales tax was $2,194. This marks an decrease of 0.3%. The effective property tax rate, using the median property tax and median home sale price as the basis, is 2.7%.
