Analysis: Pontiac administrators rank 350th in state for average pay

Administrators in Pontiac Township High School District 90 earn an average of $105,889 per year, ranking 350th out of 864 districts in Illinois, according to a McLean County Times analysis of the latest Illinois schools report card.

The 2020 average is 4.2 percent lower than in 2016 and 3.6 percent higher than in 2011. District administrators make 4.9 percent less than the state average of $111,293.

Administrator salaries depend on the district's size, location and resources, as well as the individual's level of experience and education, according to the Illinois State Board of Education report.

The Pontiac School District in Livingston County enrolled 672 students in 2019-2020. There is an average of 168 students for every administrator, compared to a statewide ratio of 171 to 1.
