Darren Bailey, candidate for governor of Bailey for Illinois, has called for State Farm to abandon woke culture and get back to the values that have made the insurer so successful.
“State Farm is a great Illinois company, and its agents are among the greatest entrepreneurs in not just in our state but across the country,” Bailey said.
“Its brand has become synonymous with Midwestern values - trust, hard work and community. The idea that State Farm would let a ‘chief diversity officer’ lead the company to publicly support such a divisive organization whose sole mission is to push sexualized, left-wing propaganda to kids is beyond disappointing.”
“GenderCool is not mainstream. It is a radical organization leading the charge to let boys play girls' youth and high school sports. For the moment decency and common sense have been restored at State Farm as the company has backed away from partnering with this extreme organization. Moving forward, I encourage State Farm and the other Illinois companies financing this insanity to quit the ‘woke’ cult for their employees’ sake and adhere to the values that have served these companies well for many years.”
State Farm noted it was dropping its affiliation with the group after receiving inquiries about the partnership.
The Bloomington-based organization said it was backing away from the group’s insistence on mandating curriculum in schools.
We support organizations that provide resources for parents to have conversations about gender and identity with their children at home. We do not support required curriculum in schools on this topic,” it said in a news release.
“As a result, we have made the decision we will no longer be affiliated with the organization. We will continue to explore how we can support our associates, as well as organizations that align with our commitment to diversity and inclusion, including the LGBTQ+ community.”
National Review reported the program was to deliver hundreds of a package of three LGBTQ books –– Being Transgender, Inclusive and Non-Binary –– into local schools aimed at children aged 5 and up.
Bailey is a third-generation farmer who was born and reared in Louisville. Bailey grew up on the Bailey Family Farm, now owned and operated by he and his sons, where they grow corn, wheat and soybeans.
