The City of Pontiac Planning and Zoning Board held a meeting on Monday, December 12th, at 4:30 p.m. in the City Hall Council Chambers to consider the following:
William Eaton III, petitioner, is requesting an After the Fact Variance as well as a Zoning Variance to install a driveway on a nonconforming lot. Section 103-505(a) states that a nonconforming use of land shall not be increased in intensity, nor be expanded or extended beyond the area it occupied. Petitioner also requests a variance to allow crushed asphalt over gravel base.103-477(i)(2) states that all open off-street parking areas and driveways shall be improved with a compacted macadam base, not less than four inches thick, surfaced with asphaltic concrete or some comparable all weather dustless material. Petitioner added said driveway to lot without mandatory permits, breaking code 103-277(c), which states that no permit as required by city building regulations shall be issued by the building inspector for the construction of a building, structure or land improvement, […] until the building inspector certifies that the application for a permit, including accompanying plans and specifications.
