Village of Cullom Board of Trustees met Aug. 22.

Here are the minutes provided by the board:

Mayor Hahn called the August 22, 2023 Regular Meeting of the Cullom Village Board to order at 7:00 p.m. at the Village Hall.

Members Present: Hahn, Flessner, Mills, Jehle, J. Meister, and Rock

Absent: Krause, K. Meister and Lovell

Also Present: Eric Raymond, Paul Ducat and Attorney Mary Ludwig (Facetime)

Pledge of Allegiance to the Flag: All present took part in the Pledge of Allegiance to the Flag

Minutes: Motion to accept, by consent agenda, the July 25, 2023 Regular Meeting minutes was made by Jehle/Rock - M/C

Public: Eric Raymond introduced Paul Ducat to the board. Ducat is running in the next election of replace retiring Steven Bennett

Attorney Report: Attorney Ludwig addressed the board through Facetime about the sale to Belltown Farms. Closing is set for August 31, 2023. Ludwig also reported that Attorney Gabor has not sent the requested files to her office. She has informed him that she will be at his office on Friday to pick up any files he has regarding village litigations

Maintenance Report:

Mulch has been added to the park playground area

Ditches that needed to be addressed have been cleaned

School bus loading area improvements and sidewalk on the south side of the school have been finished

Lovell has been in contact with Ameren about adding/replacing lighting on Main St and will meet with Ameren for more information

Radar signs have been installed on the east and west sides of town along RT 116

Clerk Report: Rock/Mills made the motion to pay the monthly bills totaling $135,058.14. M/C by voice vote

Treasurer Report: Mills/J. Meister made the motion to accept the Treasurer Report.

Old Business: .

Water Tower - The final coating of white paint has been added and the logo painting should be finished this week

Un-sewered Community Grant - No Report

Property Liens and Abandoned Properties - No Report

Farm Property Sale - See Attorney Report

S. Ash St. Extension - Moving forward as soon as Belltown Farms sale is completed Iron Tank Application - No Report

Park Vandalism - Will inquire from Attorney Ludwig on possible options

New Business:

120 W Hack St Property Purchase - Rock/Meister made the motion to purchase said property for the price of $1,500. All voted in favor by voice vote. Ludwig will be advised to start the sale process

MT Networks-Cell Tower Installation - Hahn reported on the possibility of placing a cell tower on the new water tower. She was directed to continue checking on village options Street Light Replacement - See Maintenance Report

Any Other Business:

Cross Connection Letter - Will go out with the water bills at the end of the month MFT Street Work - Will be addressed later this fall with bids going out in January. Culvert Investigation - Piggush will send someone out to address the situation Used Tire Pickup - The village will be picking up tires, sponsored by the Livingston County Health Department, on September 7, 2023. Hahn will post details on Cullom Helps and the Village website
