Truancy rates in McLean County districts worsened in 2021-22 school year compared to previous school year

Students in McLean County districts had a truancy rate of 15.1% in the 2021-22 school year, according to the Illinois State Board of Education. This was a decrease from the previous school year's rate of 20.3%.

There were 22,844 students enrolled in McLean County districts in the 2021-22 school year, of which 3,458 students were absent throughout the year.

The districts located in the county had a dropout rate 3.1%, which was 0.8% higher than the year before.
