Republican candidate Regan Deering, who is seeking to represent the 88th House District in Illinois, has been proactively connecting with the local community and former elected officials in order to gain a deeper understanding of the governmental process. She expressed her appreciation for the opportunity to connect with those who have previously held public office and other stakeholders, highlighting the importance of listening as she embarks on her campaign journey.
“Always appreciate a chance to visit with those who have previously been in elected office and stakeholder positions as I learn about the process of government,” Deering said on Facebook.
“One thing is clear-listening is key! Thanks to Jon for the time together at Jack's Cafe LeRoy, IL. Next stop was town meeting in Ellsworth, Illinois to meet trustees and hear about town issues and priorities.”
“Don’t forget to thank your community members who step up to work for the good of your town/village/city-it’s not a glamorous job. My drive home tonight had me passing farmers still working their fields. God bless the people of the 88th!”
Deering’s campaign aligns with the Illinois GOP’s initiative that focuses on promoting early voting and Get Out The Vote (GOTV) programs. This move syncs with a nationwide Republican effort ensuring election integrity leading up to the 2024 elections, wherein early voting is viewed as a crucial strategy for securing Republican votes before Election Day.
Previously a congressional candidate and currently serving as a Mount Zion school board member, Deering announced her bid for the Illinois statehouse in the 88th House District in June. She has expressed her intention to represent common sense conservatives while advocating for conservative values, parental rights, and individual freedoms. Aiming to succeed State Rep. Dan Caulkins, who will not be running for re-election, Deering emphasizes her experience as a problem solver committed to creating success for everyone.
The 88th House District includes McLean, Macon, Piatt, and DeWitt counties.
