City of Fairbury City Council met Sept. 20.
Here are the minutes provided by the council:
1. Call to order – Mayor Slagel called the meeting to order at 6:30 p.m.
2. Mayor Slagel directed the Clerk to call roll and the following members of Council answered present: Gary Norris, Steve Endres, Charles Hoselton, Jon Kinate, Jerry Hoffman, Jim Tipton, and Bill Schmidgall. Bruce Weber entered at 6:34 p.m.

4. Motion to approve the Consent Agenda – Motion by Schmidgall, second by Tipton to approve the following items on the Consent Agenda:
A. Minutes from the September 6, 2023, council meeting
B. Voucher Invoice Register listing the bills
C. Treasurer’s Cash Report (second meeting of the month)
D. Check Register (second meeting of the month)

5. Mayor Slagel opened Public Comment and the following persons provided comments:
➢ Nick Webb and Tammy Booth came to ask about the location of a fence on a fence installation

→ Streets & Fire – Martin Steidinger, Superintendent & Fire Chief -reported
➢ The bid for the truck was not accepted
➢ Received last quote for the Fire Dept repairs
➢ Additional masonry repairs are necessary to the pillars at the Stafford Center
➢ IDOT will be doing full depth patching

➢ In an effort to assist in raising donations for the D2 Basketball Courts, Prairie Lands Foundation has established a D2 Court Fund. Donations to the D2 Court Fund will generate a dollar-for-dollar matching contribution up to $25,000. Contributions may be dropped off at Bluestem Bank branch of Bank of Pontiac, 104 E Locust St. Fairbury, IL 61739.
