BLOOMINGTON, Ill. - Illinois Wesleyan University men's volleyball head coach Brandon Mueller announced the addition of Mike Eastman to the coaching staff on Wednesday, Aug. 20, ahead of the 2025 season. Eastman transitions into the assistant coaching position after concluding a notable career for the Green and White this past spring and began his role on Aug. 1.
"I am really excited to have Mike continue to have a hands-on part in building our program," Mueller stated. "He has been such an integral part of what we have done since the beginning. We are looking forward to him bringing his knowledge and understanding of the game to our program."
Eastman, who was the program's first All-College Conference of Illinois and Wisconsin honoree, joins Mueller's staff following an impressive career that includes being the program's all-time leader in kills, digs, and points among other records. As a member of the program's inaugural team, he appeared in 284 sets over 87 matches during his four years. The Chicago native accumulated 897 kills, 437 digs, 67 total blocks, and 1048.5 points in his career. He became the first Titan to surpass 1000 career points and concluded his career with Second Team All-CCIW honors in 2024 after recording 256 kills, 128 digs, 28 aces, and 17 blocks in his senior year.
Alongside Mueller and Eastman, Alec Mucha will serve as a part-time assistant coach.
